Rally Obedience Classes Obedience with a Smile
How Does Rally Work? Each course consists of a series of numbered stations. At every station, you'll perform a different exercise by following the sign's instructions before moving smoothly to the next station. Exercises include: • Heelwork • Turns and changes of pace • Sit, down and stand positions • Stays • Recalls • Fronts and finishes Every course is slightly different, making each run enjoyable and rewarding.

Who Can Participate? Rally is suitable for many breeds, sizes and handler experience levels. Because dogs work closely with their owners throughout the course, Rally is particularly popular with handlers who enjoy positive reinforcement, teamwork and developing a deeper partnership with their dogs.
Before You Begin We recommend that dogs have completed McKaynine Canine Good Citizen Bronze or have an equivalent level of obedience before joining Rally classes. Dogs should be comfortable working around other dogs and able to perform basic obedience exercises such as heelwork, sits, downs and recalls.

What is Rally Obedience? Rally Obedience is a fun dog sport where handlers guide their dogs through a course of numbered stations, completing different obedience exercises at each point. How is Rally different from traditional obedience? Unlike traditional obedience, Rally allows handlers to encourage and communicate with their dogs throughout the course, creating a more relaxed and enjoyable experience. Does my dog need obedience training first? Yes. We recommend completing Canine Good Citizen Bronze or an equivalent obedience level before joining Rally classes. Can any breed compete in Rally? Absolutely. Rally is suitable for dogs of many different breeds, sizes and temperaments. Do I have to compete? No. Many owners participate purely for enjoyment, mental stimulation and to strengthen their relationship with their dog. Is Rally suitable for older dogs? Yes. Provided your dog is healthy and enjoys training, Rally can be an excellent activity for mature dogs because it combines mental stimulation with moderate physical exercise.
